Journals of a Makeup Artist
Welcome!
It all begins with an idea.
For 2025 and beyond I wanted to create a place where I can share behind the scenes, fun things I’m doing and creating, products I’m loving, beauty and bridal tips, tricks and knowledge I have as a makeup artist of 16+ years. I may even scatter in a few of the brides I work with and their weddings.
While Instagram has been my platform of choice, this space allows me to share more in-depth information. So whether you're a bride-to-be, a fellow artist, a makeup lover or a novice, I hope you find inspiration and useful advice.
Welcome to my blog!
Who am I?
You may have read a little about me already on my socials or website so I’ll keep it short and sweet.
I’m a makeup artist with extensive experience across the industry and now focusing primarily on bridal makeup.
After 12 years and two salons in Brisbane, my husband, Dan, and I chose to move to North East Victoria where we are raising our two children.
Why did I choose makeup artistry?
I’ve never forgotten the feeling I had when I first walked into a Napoleon Perdis counter, had a colour match and shown how to effectively use their products.
As a teenager who had only worn Maybelline Dream Matte Mousse and clear mascara (still confused about that one…), a simple routine with quality products and the techniques to use them drastically improved my self confidence.
Why bridal makeup?
Authentic
I’m a makeup artist with extensive experience in the industry and have seen the industry go through a number of changes.
Right now is the most exciting time for the beauty and makeup industry for both makeup artists and makeup users

It all begins with an idea.
It all begins with an idea. Maybe you want to launch a business. Maybe you want to turn a hobby into something more. Or maybe you have a creative project to share with the world. Whatever it is, the way you tell your story online can make all the difference.
Don’t worry about sounding professional. Sound like you. There are over 1.5 billion websites out there, but your story is what’s going to separate this one from the rest. If you read the words back and don’t hear your own voice in your head, that’s a good sign you still have more work to do.
Be clear, be confident and don’t overthink it. The beauty of your story is that it’s going to continue to evolve and your site can evolve with it. Your goal should be to make it feel right for right now. Later will take care of itself. It always does.
