Everyday Essentials for Mature Skin
Thank you so much for joining me!
Below I have compiled a little checklist of essentials and summary of my tips and tricks. I have also included a page of shoppable links with recommendations of products I know and love.
Tips for Mature Skin
Hydration is your hero
Avoid heavy powders - they accentuate lines
Choose creams over powders for a fresh, skin-like finish
Focus on defining your brows, eyes and lips for a balanced look
Less is more. Use makeup to embrace your features rather than mask them
Avoid shimmery products on textured areas
Skin Prep & Base
Always start with well hydrated skin & let your products absorb for 10mins.
SPF always!
Choose glowy base products & prep your skin with a glow booster such as this one.
Prime your brush with your products first and slowly build coverage where you need it.
Keep products thin on areas that move & crease (around eyes, mouth or anywhere you have fine lines).
Set your base with powder if using powder bronzer & blush. Leave powder until the end if using creams.
Bronzer & Blush
Cream products will look more skin-like than powders.
The aim is to achieve the appearance of fullness.
Take your bronzer through your eyelids & a little onto your nose for a cohesive look.
Adding a little blush onto your eyes will also bring everything together.
Eyes & Brows
Be sure to do your eyeshadow while looking straight ahead. This will ensure your placement is correct (no pulling your skin!).
Keep any shimmer to the mobile lid.
Use matte shadow above crease to lift.
Soft shadow as eyeliner
Thicken lash line with dark brown pencil (amongst lashes, not above)
Keep the lines of your brow straight (rounded brows will accentuate puffiness and make your eyes look heavier).
Choose a shade slightly lighter than your brow hairs and using an angled brush, gently fill them in.
Keeping the front of your brow high will create a youthful, fresh look.
Lips
You have 2 lip borders - the colour and the vermillion border. To add fullness you can go to the vermillion border.
If over-lining, stick to the centre of the lips and taper the sides back into your lip line.
Shimmery/pearlescent & matte liquid lipsticks enhance texture and can be quite ageing.
Choose satin or cream finishes.
Gloss in the centre will enhance fullness.
My Product Recommendations
You can see all of my product recommendations HERE.
This site includes some links that earn me a tiny commission if you make a purchase using them with no extra charge to you. These are products I recommend anyway and are in no way chosen because of this. I would never recommend anything I don’t love and believe in wholeheartedly.

Things to Remember
Less is more, gradually build your products up until you’re happy with the coverage and effect.
Choose your favourite feature and draw attention to that.
These are all just suggestions. Ultimately makeup should be enjoyable & make YOU feel great. Rules are for breaking (well makeup rules anyway).
Have fun! Play around and find what you like.
